L'ourse
ENGLISH PROJECT
At school I read a book : “ l’œil d’Horus” and I loved it because it was an adventurous story
with a king. The writer was Alain Surget so I decided to find book by the same writer. I
searched in a library and I found “L’ourse” by luck on a desk and the author was Alain Surget.
I began to read this book in spite of the unattractive cover. At the beginning I was no very
enthusiastic but page after the page the story became really interesting. I read this book in
approximately 2 hours because it’s easy to read. This book tells the story of a young boy his
name is Thomas, like me! His father is a shepherd and he works in the Pyrenees. But one day
a bear ate many sheep and the dad was very angry so he decided to kill this animal. Having
said that Thomas was scared when he thought about the bear he made terrible nightmares.
When they hunt the bear Thomas saw the child of the animal and they became friends and
he wouldn’t kill his friends. In this book I love the friendship story between the bear and the
child, I found it very touching. I think this book is really easy to read because there are only
100 pages and the story is really sentimental. If you like animals this story is made for you! Up to now, I didn’t like
the stories with children I preferred stories with blood but it was very
pleasant to read and I think you will love it.
